Authenticity of the Bible

I love Lord of the Rings, I think it’s genius. I think I’d make a good elf, I reckon I could pull it off! (obviously I’d look as good as Orlando Bloom and get to hang around the magical forests with Liv Tyler). It’s the 8th best selling book in the world, which is pretty impressive, I have no doubt that’ll change once the last Harry Potter book comes out (but we all know it’s the poor mans LOTR).

What’s different about Jesus?

So we have seen that not all paths lead to God. But how can I as a bible believing Christian know that Christianity and Jesus Christ is the correct path. Perhaps you don’t believe it, perhaps the world has influenced your thinking on the matter.

So let me highlight a few key things:

1. He is the only, unique Son of God (Psalm 2:7, 11-12; John 1:14; Luke 1:35).

2. He is eternal. He existed from eternity past, He exists in the present, and He will exist for all eternity in the future (John 1:1-3, 14; John 8:58).

Do all paths lead to God? The problem with religious pluralism

Well do all paths lead to God? I mean, there are many different religions out there – all telling you that they are correct, and that ‘spiritual enlightenment’ can be found in them.

Surely it would make sense that the paths of all world religions are all going in the same direction up the mountain to reach the same destination.

And if that is the case, then it matters not who you follow, whether it be Jesus Christ, Allah or Vishnu. This is known as religious pluralism. religious pluralism holds that no single religion can claim absolute authority to teach absolute truth, and that all faiths are searching for the same truths in different ways. Maybe this is where you are coming from.
